Dr. Peter Winograd, the Director of the Center for Education Policy at the University of New Mexico will speak to Albuquerque Press Women on Monday, Feb. 10 at 11:45 a.m. at the MCM Elegante (2020 Menaul NE) on “The Future of Education in New Mexico: Why should you care and what should you do about it?”
Winograd will look at the underlying problems of education in New Mexico and Albuquerque. He will also discuss possible solutions. CEPR conducts independent research on a wide range of education issues and usees that research to strengthen the efforts of policy makers, educators and citizens in meeting the challenges facing New Mexico.
Winograd has been deeply involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of New Mexico’s major education reform initiatives including early childhood care and education; statewide longitudinal education data systems; high school redesign and college readiness; and teacher and principal recruitment, preparation, retention, and evaluation.
