Press Women to hear author Loretta Hall on stories behind the story

Loretta_HallProminent local author Loretta Hall will speak to Albuquerque Press Women on “Stories Behind the Story: Oral Histories Bring History to Life” at 11:45 a.m. on Sept. 8 at the MCM Eleganté (2020 Menaul NE). History takes on a deeper, more personal flavor when it comes directly from the mouths of the people who lived it. This presentation describes lessons learned during the preparation of a book of excerpts gleaned from the New Mexico Museum of Space History’s oral history collection.

Hall’s book ,”Out of this World: New Mexico’s Contributions to Space Travel”, was named Best New Mexico Book in the 2011 New Mexico Book Awards. She worked to personalize the space research done in New Mexico during the past eighty years by focusing on the people who worked on the projects. She took this approach a step further with her new book, “Space Pioneers in Their Own Words”.
Cost of the lunch is $16 for members, $21 for non-members. Please email us.
