Susan Boe from NMFOG talks transparency

Susan BoeSusan Boe, executive director of New Mexico Foundation for Open Government will speak to Albuquerque Press Women on Monday, March 9 at the MCM Elegante (2020 Menaul NE) at 11:45 a.m. Boe will speak on transparency and talk about the activities of NMFOG during the current legislative session. She will also share current activities of NMFOG.

NMFOG is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization committed to helping citizens, students, educators, public officials, media and legal professionals understand, obtain and exercise their rights and responsibilities under New Mexico “sunshine laws” – the Inspection of Public Records Act, Open Meetings Act and Arrest Record Information Act. NMFOG also helps them understand their fights under the federal Freedom of Information Act and their First Amendment Rights.

Boe is a retired attorney and was formerly a partner at Faegre & Benson, a Minneapolis-based international law firm. She also was general counsel for Iowa Realty, a Berkshire-Hathaway Company. Prior to becoming an attorney, Boe worked for daily newspapers in Corpus Christi and San Antonio, Texas and was a public information officer for the University of Texas at San Antonio and The Ohio State University. She received a B.S. degree in journalism from Iowa State University and her law degree with highest distinction from the University of Iowa.
