Rey Garduno

City Council President Rey Garduno is retiring at the end of the year, but before he completes his final term in office he will meet with Albuquerque Press Women to review his triumphs and disappointments on Monday, December 14 at 11:45 at the MCM Elegante Hotel (2020 Menaul NE.) He will also offer his thoughts on where the city is headed.

Garduno was born and raised in New Mexico and has lived in District 6 more more than 30 years. During that time he has worked in education and health services and served on the boards of directors of numerous community organizations.

As a city councilor he brought his interest in community engagement to his work for the city. He has sponsored legislation to encourage small businesses, protect the environment, encourage transparency and honesty in government and sought to revitalize neighborhoods.
