Santa Fe New Mexican political reporter Steve Terrell and columnist Milan Simonich will take a critical look at the issues facing the 2016 session of the New  Mexico legislature when they speak to Albuquerque Press Women on Monday, January 11 at 11:45 a.m. at the MCM Elegante Hotel.

These two reporters have covered the political scene in the state for years and have a good grasp of the issues, the players, the potholes and the sinkholes lawmakers will face when they meet in Santa Fe on January 19. Legislators must draw up a state budget, try to find a way to solve the real ID problem for New Mexicans and think about ways the state can solve its complicated problems in education, corrections and health care.

Will the fact the entire legislature is up for re-election in November complicate things? Or will lawmakers be scared into civility? Please join Albuquerque Press Women for a lunch that will give you something to think about.

Anyone is welcome, but reservations must be made by emailing E-Mail or by calling 720-7821 by January 6. Cost of the lunch for members and first-time guests is $16, nonmembers $21. If you require a special meal, please request it when you make your reservation. Your reservation is our commitment to reserve your lunch and your commitment to pay.
