Agnes Noonan, president of WESST to speak to Albuquerque Press Women

AgnesNoonan Albuquerque Press Women will hear from Agnes Noonan, president of the Women’s Economic Self-Sufficiency Team (WESST) at the monthly luncheon at 11:45 on Monday, March 14 at the MCM Elegante (2020 Menaul NE).

WESST assists women to want to start businesses in New Mexico. This group has worked with more than 3,400 small businesses through start up and growth. WESST also loans money to small business owners to expand their operations.

Noonan will speak about whether there has been a change in the kinds of businesses women are starting and look at some of the challenges and satisfaction they get from the hard job of building business.

She has been president of WESST since 1991. Before that she was a small business consultant and volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps in Costa Rice, and director of public relations and membership at the National Learning Center in Washington D.C.

Noonan has a fascinating story to tell about the courage and perseverance of small business owners in New Mexico. Please join us for her talk.
