New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver will speak to Albuquerque Press Women and Friends at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 9 at Mimi’s Restaurant (4316 The 25 Way). Toulouse Oliver will discuss current activities in her office and changes that are coming for the election process in New Mexico as a result of amendments made during the last legislative session to election statutes.
Toulouse Oliver was elected to the position of Secretary of State in 2016. She is focused on providing increased transparency in financial disclosure and campaign finance reporting, modernizing the online campaign finance system. Toulouse Oliver is working to modernize the online campaign finance system, and encouraging New Mexicans to get registered and vote. She advocates for good government and stronger ethics legislation.
Toulouse Oliver is a lifelong New Mexico resident and has served as the Bernalillo County Clerk from 2007 to 2016. She attended Albuquerque Public Schools and earned both we B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of New Mexico. Currently living in Santa Fe, she is the proud mother of two sons.
APWF Press Women and Friends meet monthly on the second Monday of the month. Anyone is welcome at meetings, but non-members will be charged an additional $5.
